I don't bill insurance directly, and confidentiality is a big reason why: what we work on stays between us, with no diagnosis required for an insurance company's file. You'll receive a detailed superbill with simple submission instructions, some plans reimburse a portion, and HSA and FSA funds can be used.
The free consultation is a relaxed 10-minute conversation, not an interview. You share a little about what's going on, I share how I work, and we decide together whether to move forward. There's no pressure and no obligation.
Start with a free 10-minute consultation. Request it online and I'll personally reach out to set up a time. We'll talk about what's bringing you to therapy, and you can ask me anything. If we're a good fit, we'll schedule your first session. If not, I'll point you toward someone who is.
Where to Begin
Sessions are $200 per hour, which reflects the focused, specialized care I offer, working only with women, in the areas I know best. Superbills are provided for out-of-network reimbursement, HSA and FSA cards are accepted, and the initial 10-minute consultation is free. If we're meeting weekly, I offer a reduced rate. Just ask, and we'll talk it through.
For therapy, yes. You need to be physically located in Arizona during our sessions, because that's where I'm licensed. If you live elsewhere, we can still work together in a non-clinical way: group coaching, community, and 1-on-1 guidance as a mental health advisor. Those options are coaching, not therapy, and if therapy is what you need, I'll help you find someone licensed in your state.
We can still work together, just not in a clinical capacity. My license allows me to provide psychotherapy only to clients located in Arizona. If you live anywhere else, I offer group coaching, supportive communities, and 1-on-1 guidance as a mental health advisor. These options draw on the same experience and tools, but they are coaching, not therapy: there is no diagnosis or treatment, and they are not a substitute for care from a licensed clinician in your state. If what you need is therapy, I'm glad to help you find someone licensed where you live.
Our first full session is where we really begin together. We'll talk in more depth about what brought you here, what you'd like to be different, and what matters most to you. I'll ask questions to understand more of what's going on, we'll start shaping a few goals, and we'll go at a pace you feel comfortable with. You don't need to prepare anything or have it all figured out. Showing up is the important part.
Sessions are 60 minutes, scheduled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 8 AM and 3 PM. Most clients meet weekly for the first 6 to 8 sessions, then we adjust the frequency together based on your progress.
Yes. Research consistently shows online therapy works as well as in-person care for concerns like anxiety, burnout, and self-esteem. Many clients find it easier to open up from their own space, and it usually means more consistent attendance. Simplified Wellness has been exclusively telehealth since 2018.
We meet by video on a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. You'll receive a link before each session; click it from a private spot with a good connection and we begin. There's no software to buy, no commute, and no waiting room.
How We'll Work Together
Yes. What you share stays between us, protected by law and by the secure platform we meet on. There are a few legally required exceptions, such as risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult. I'll walk you through all of them before we begin.
Life happens, and rescheduling is easy. I ask for at least 24 hours notice so your time can be offered to someone else. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are charged the full session fee.
I keep my caseload small on purpose, so there's usually room when you need it. I'd rather stay available to the women I work with than be booked so far out that I can't be there when something comes up. In practice, that means I can usually fit in a reschedule, and sometimes a last-minute session, when life happens. Staying reachable is part of how I work.
Collaborative, honest, and more energizing than you might expect. Therapy with me is goal-focused and action-oriented: we'll set clear goals, celebrate wins, use humor, and I'll lovingly hold you accountable. I'll also challenge you, because therapy is hard work, at a pace that feels safe.
I work with individual adults only, so I don't provide couples or family therapy, or therapy for children and teens. I'm also not the best fit when a substance use disorder or eating disorder is the primary concern, or when someone needs crisis-level care. Those situations deserve specialized support, and I'm glad to help you find it.
No. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I don't prescribe medication; that's the role of a doctor or psychiatrist. Therapy and medication often work well together, though, and if we think medication might help, I'm glad to help you connect with a prescriber and coordinate with them.
I work with adult women across Arizona: high-achieving women, highly sensitive women, perfectionists, mothers, artists, and career women who feel stretched thin by everyone else's needs. If you're exhausted by people-pleasing or struggling with boundaries, you're in the right place.
Getting to Know Each Other
As long as it's useful, and no longer. Some clients reach their goals in a few months; others stay longer to work on deeper patterns. We'll review your progress together regularly, and you're always in control of when we're done.
Completely normal, and a good sign that this matters to you. You've already done the first and most important step by looking for help. We'll take it one step at a time, at a pace you feel comfortable with.
If you're in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please reach out right away: call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or go to your nearest emergency room. I'm not a crisis or emergency service, and when things are urgent I want you to get help quickly. Once you're safe and steady, I'm here to talk about ongoing support.

Mary showed me that rest and self care are not things I have to earn. I took an hour just for myself recently, and for once I did not feel guilty.
